Anyone here taken it?

How long should I plan on preparing for it?

Got a new job. Going to be dealing with the my company's employee's retirement funds in the next 1-2 years when I learn everything I need to know. Pretty stoked for the job.

I got it Kruser but dont use it much. Just use it for my clients that want 401k and profit sharings.

It was a decently hard test but if you study like anything else you will pass.

Thanks Timetopay. Will be starting soon.

Did you have any problem remembering information you had studied a month prior to the test? In college I could just study the day of or a couple days prior and be ok. However, this test is a lot of information and that probably won't work!

It is a ton of information, and a lot of random rules and regulations. Best way to study is to take tons of practice tests. Can buy them online from a company called STC. See if your company will pay for a week of classroom training too. If not, no big deal.

I remember know about half the book(the stuff I liked) down cold

The other shit so/so and just tried to stomach enough from each chapter. Just try to remember the rules more than concepts.

Alright, I have finished up chapter eight. I have to say I am really starting to wear down. I have put a huge number of hours into this already, and I am just not sure if I fully remember everything I have read. How many times did you guys read each chapter?

Any more tips to finish this out?

Take the tests in the back of the book after each chapter, this really helps. DO it over and over again. Focus on muni securities and options as those are the toughest for most. A lot of it is common sense. Hang in there.
